Man arrested for attempted murder, illegal possession of firearms in QC


Police arrested a man for attempted murder and illegal possession of firearms in Quezon City on Saturday, March 18.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Batasan Police Station (PS 6) identified the suspect as Ibram Ogabar, 20, resident of Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

Based on initial investigation, victim Raymark Dante Adrales, witness Anjo Tabornal Bonggat and suspect Ogabar had a drinking spree on Session Road in Brgy. Batasan on Friday midnight.

Police said that when the victim and witness fell asleep at around 4 a.m. on Friday, the drunk suspect suddenly appeared with a gun and shot the victim but missed hitting him.

PS 6 operatives said they received a phone call about the incident at 6:30 a.m. on the same day.

They forwarded the information to the Tactical Motorcyle Riding Unit (TMRU) personnel who were conducting an anti-criminality operation near the area.

TMRU immediately responded to the said area where they found and arrested the drunk suspect.

A .38-caliber revolver without serial number, a slug, and 17 pieces of ammunition were confiscated from the suspect.

PS6 operatives said they are still investigating the motive of the suspect.

The suspect will be charged with attempted murder and violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
