Duckeyy deflects credit to Vrendon as Bren Esports takes top spot with big win over ECHO
Bren Esports head coach Francis “Duckeyy” Glindro is giving much of the credit to his team's success to assistant coach Vrendon “Vrendon Lin” Pesebre.

While Duckeyy serves as the head coach, it was actually Vrendon who called the shots during the drafts and setting up the tactical preparations for Bren Esports which now seized the top spot of the MPL Philippines Season 11 standings following a gutsy 2-1 victory over M4 world champion ECHO on Saturday, March 18, at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City. Vrendon even pulled off two surprise picks during the Game 3 draft when it took a Julian midlane and Kaja roaming picks which contained the signature map aggression of ECHO. “It was actually a very good call from Vren kasi most of the time he is being overshadowed kasi ako lagi ‘yung tinatanong but majority of our tactical preparation is with him,” said Duckeyyy. “I really want to give props to Vren kasi sobrang well-documented when he actually preps up so bet hire 2023,” added the M2 world champion coach. Vren revealed that Julian was actually an unplanned pick in Game 3 but Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel and the rest of Bren Esports managed to make it work – something he credited to the team’s dedication during practice. “Siguro ‘yung consistency lang ng team sobrang dedicated rin nila magtraining, at the same time open sila criticism kaya di mahirap na magbounce back lalo na sa mga losses, lalo na yung mga one day in between matches namin,” said the Bren assistant coach who now have steered the M2 world champions to an eight-game winning streak. Bren also has now defeated all of the teams in the MPL after also exacting revenge against ECHO after a 2-0 defeat in the first round of the playoffs. Rowgien “Owgweb” Unigo explained that the team has finally settled down after admittedly getting pressured during their first round meeting “‘Yung nagbago po nung week 1 siguro nag overthink tsaka medyo natense kami kasi first match namin tapos Echo pa yung kalaban so medyo mabigat bigat,” said the Bren Esports roamer.
