Bianca Umali on why she unfollowed Ruru Madrid on social media
Real-life couple Bianca Umali and Ruru Madrid once had a fight while working on "The Write One."
It got so bad that Bianca actually unfollowed Ruru on social media.
This was revealed by show director King Marc Baco during a press conference.
Though worried, King reiterated during a recent press conference how the two didn't let their personal squabble spill into their work.
Thankfully, the whole issue ended as quickly as it came.
Asked about it, Bianca maintained it was just a "small fight."
"So hindi siya something na dapat maging big deal."
She assured fans, "Yung pag-unfollow namin sa isa't-isa was just for a moment - nasa height ng emotion." Bianca noted that theirs is not unlike any other relationship. "You really go through maliliit na tampuhan. Lalo na for us na we're together every single day working," she pointed out. "So it's normal, I guess, to get burned out a bit." "Pero okay naman na," she guaranteed. Bianca actually feels like it's a "skill" somehow for an actor to be able to separate personal life from work. "Kami naman, so far, parang nagagawa naman namin na hiwalay yung personal issues namin kapag nasa eksena na kami. When we're working hindi hadlang yung kung ano man yung nangyayari sa amin off-cam," she said, asking Ruru: "Tama ba?" The hunk star meekly replied: "Tama naman." He opined the incident may have occurred because they're not used to working together. "Kami kasi yung pahinga ng isa't-isa," was how he put it. "Like, never namin pinag-usapan yung trabaho. Never namin inisip na: 'Dapat na ba kami magkatrabaho?'"
But they couldn't help but say yes to "The Write One, maintaining how "great" the concept of the show is. "So at first sobrang nahirapan ako pero habang tumatagal na nagta-taping kaming dalawa ni Bianca, ang dami kong natututunan sa kanya. I mean, she's a very talented actress. Sobrang galing. She's very professional pagdating sa trabaho. So sabi ko hindi ako magsasawang makatrabaho itong babaeng ito." So what are the pros and cons of working with your real-life partner? Bianca related, "It becomes hard kasi you both are very comfortable with each other in real life. So for us to be able to work and create a project as co-actors we have to take a step back and to see the project as work and not as something na parang ginagawa lang namin together." "It becomes easy naman because nga you are very comfortable with the person or the people who you work with, na wala ka ng masyadong adjustments," she added. "We don't have to know so much kasi nga gagawin mo na lang yung eksena with people who you are very comfortable with, with someone who you love." Ruru and Bianca were also asked, if they will try and rewrite their lives if and when given a chance.
Bianca couldn't agree more. She added: "Alam ko na yun yung answer niya. And I know that he knows I would answer the same: No, we wouldn't rewrite anything."
