QC cops net 13 suspects, more than P500,000 'shabu' in buy-busts
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives confiscated over P500,000 worth of alleged shabu from 13 drug suspects in a series of buy-busts in the city on Thursday, March 16, and Friday, March 17.
Lt. Col. Jerry Castillo, Novaliches Station (PS 4) commander, identified one of the suspects Warlita Paguirigan, 50, tagged as the station's No.2 drug priority target; and her cohorts Lorie Cescar, Catrina Celario, and Hiede Miranda.
Following a tip from a concerned citizen, the police arrested the four suspects in Barangay San Bartolome, Novaliches, at around 3 a.m. on Friday. Seized from them were 50 grams of “shabu” valued at P340,000, a cellphone, and the buy-bust money.
The QCPD District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU) also collared Maydylie Roxas and Ana Joy Grande at 1:30 a.m. on the same day on Irid St. in Barangay San Martin de Pores, Cubao, after they yielded 10 grams of alleged shabu worth P68,000, one brown bag sling bag, and a cellphone.
Meanwhile, the QCPD Fairview Police Station (PS 5) arrested Rael Roxas in a buy-bust operation on Dahlia Ave. in Barangay Greater Fairview at about 6 p.m. on Thursday.
Police confiscated five grams of shabu worth P34,000 and a .38-caliber revolver with five bullets.
Another suspect, identified as Jerome Bundoc II, was nabbed by Project 4 Police Station operatives at 2:30 a.m. on Friday on Magat Salamat St. in Barangay Bagumbuhay, Project 4, which resulted in the confiscation of 0.3 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P2,040, and the buy-bust money.
QCPD Payatas Bagong Silangan (PS 13) under Lt. Col. Roldante Sarmiento also nabbed Ferdinand Mendoza and Gloria Mendoza at about 9 p.m. on Thursday on Leyte St. in Barangay Payatas B.
Confiscated from them were four grams of shabu worth P27,200, one black coin purse, and a cellphone.
Two other suspects also yielded P20,400 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation launched by Pasong Putik Proper Police Station (PS 16) in Barangay Greater Lagro, Quezon City at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Lt. Col. Vincent Bumalay, PS 16 commander, identified the suspects as Alvin Endriga and John Kenneth Passion.
The same police operatives also apprehended Ernesto Hadlis and Jofrey Fererros at around 4:30 a.m. on Friday on Quirino Highway in Barangay Kaligayahan, Quezon City. Seized from them two grams of shabu worth P13,600.
All the suspects will be charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Rael Roxas will also be charged for violation of RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, police said.
