PRO-7 chief Bearis replaced

CEBU CITY – Just like his predecessor, Brig. Gen. Jerry Bearis’ stint as  chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) was also short-lived. BEARIS (PRO 7 FB) Lt. Col. Gerard Ace Pelare, spokesperson of Bearis, said the PRO-7 will make proper announcement of the changes but in a document obtained by the media here, Bearis was relieved effective on Thursday, March 16. Bearis will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Anthony Abellada Aberin. The turnover ceremony is reportedly scheduled on Monday, March 20. Aberin and Bearis, who are both members of Class 1993 of the Philippine National Police Academy, are actually switching places. Bearis will be the new chief of the Aviation Security Group, which was occupied by Aberin before he moved to the PRO-7. Bearis was named PRO-7 chief last Dec. 19, replacing Brig. Gen. Augustus Alba. Alba only served as PRO-7 director for two months.
