"This program intends to ensure women’s health and shield them against illnesses and complications such as cervical and breast cancer which is very common among women," Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo “Along” Malapitan said. "Bukod po sa cervical screening ng City Health Department, mayroon po tayong libreng mammogram sa CCNMC tuwing Biyernes, libreng breast ultrasound sa CCMC tuwing Lunes, pati na rin po libreng pelvic ultrasound at pap smear tuwing Martes (In addition to cervical screening by the City Health Department, we have free mammograms at CCNMC (Caloocan City North Medical Center) every Friday, free breast ultrasounds at CCMC (Caloocan City Medical Center) every Monday, as well as free pelvic ultrasounds and pap smears every Tuesday)," he added. City Health Department (CHD) Officer-in-Charge Dr. Evelyn Cuevas said the local government conducts free medical services for women not just on Women's Month but on a regular basis. "Maraming salamat po sa ating CHD sa inyong walang sawang pagbibigay ng mapagmalasakit na serbisyo sa ating mga kababayan at sa mga kababaihan. Patuloy pa rin pong maghahatid ng libreng cervical screening ang Iba't-ibang health centers sa mga susunod na araw (Thank you very much to our CHD for your services to our countrymen and women. Various health centers will continue to deliver free cervical screening in the coming days),” the mayor said. The city government had earlier said that it has prepared and launched various programs for Women’s Month which include medical services, gender awareness seminar, bazaar, zumba, haircut, and meditation classes.
