JC, 37, just finished one of the Philippines’ first ordinances in the battle against online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).

The Philippines’ anti-OSAEC measure lapsed into law in July 2022. The law, long pushed by children’s rights advocates, criminalizes the online trafficking of children through acts such as live-streaming sexual abuse and sharing child sexual abuse material through social media platforms.
On March 8, Councilor JC just got elected as Vice President of Luzon Island of the Philippines Councilors’ League (PCL) for the term 2023-2025, during ceremonies held at Marriot Hotel Manila. President Marcos led the oath-taking ceremony held the next day.
Awarded as 2023 Modern Hero Asia’s Golden Icon Awards, Councilor JC is expected to be more productive in Angeles City. The former actress is usually accompanied by her husband, former city councilor Jericho Aguas.
