4 new regional directors named as Azurin approves PNP revamp
The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reshuffled 10 of its senior officers, including the regional director of Central Visayas who was replaced barely three months after his appointment.
From Police Regional Office 7, Police Brig. Gen. Jerry Bearis was named as the director of the PNP-Aviation Security Group, replacing Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin who was named as his replacement as director of the Police Regional Office 7.
Police Brig. Gen. Sidney Sultan Hernia, erstwhile director of the Police Regional Office 4B (Mindoro Occidental and Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), was also designated as the new director of the PNP’s Anti-Cybercrime Group. He swapped position with Police Brig. Gen. Joel Doria.
Police Brig. Gen. Alden Delvo was named as the new director of the Police Regional Office 11 (Davao region), replacing Police Brig. Gen. Benjamin Silo who was designated as the new director of the Civil Security Group—a two-star position.
Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo, Jr. is now the new director of the Police Regional Office-Cordillera Administrative Region. He replaced Police Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar who was assigned to the Area Police Command- Northern Luzon.
Police Maj. Gen. Oliver Enmodias, on the other hand, was named as the new director of the Directorate for Research and Development while Police Col. Romeo Juan Macapaz is the new director of the Intelligence Group.
PNP chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin, Jr. said the new designation was based on the recommendation of the PNP’s Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board.
"This latest reorganization in the PNP is prompted by the recent retirement of some senior officials. I am confident that these senior officials will do their best to accomplish the mandated task in their respective Area of Responsibility,” said Azurin.
Their new designations took effect on Thursday, March 16.
