1 arrested, P1M shabu seized in Antipolo buy-bust


Members of the Antipolo City police arrested one drug suspect and confiscated more than P1 million worth of suspected shabu in Antipolo City on Thursday night, the Rizal Provincial Police Office (PPO) said on March 17.

Rizal PPO Director Col. Dominic Baccay identified the arrested suspect as Rico Abit, alias Christian, 29, of Quezon City, said to be a high value individual.

The Antipolo Police, upon the instruction of chief of police,  Lt. Col. June Paolo Abrazado, conducted a buy-bust operation at around 11 p.m. on March 16 in Sitio Culasisi in Barangay San Luis, Antipolo City following the information that the suspect was selling shabu.

A policeman who acted as a poseur buyer was able to transact with the suspect using the P6,000 buy-bust money,

During the drug sting, policemen found in the possession of the suspect nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing around 150 grams.

The PPO said the seized shabu is worth P1,020,000 based on the matrix of the Dangerous Drugs Board.

The suspect was immediately detained at the Antipolo Police custodial facility while the confiscated items were sent to the Rizal Provincial Forensic Unit for documentation and disposition.
