Two street-level drug pushers arrested in Quezon buy-bust


TIAONG, Quezon -- Anti-narcotics operatives seized some P224,000 worth of shabu from two street-level drug pushers who were arrested in a separate drug buy-bust operation in this town, a police report said on Thursday, March 16.

Tiaong police identified the suspects as Edman Magboo, 29, single, and a resident of Sitio Bagong Pook, Brgy. Quipot, here, and Romel Macaraeg, 47, a resident of Japanese Village, Brgy. San Diego, San Pablo City, Laguna.

Magboo was arrested after dealing with a police agent who was posing as a buyer in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday at around 7:30 p.m. at Sitio Bagong Pook, Brgy. Quipot.

Police seized 5.2 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P106,080 from Magboo.

Macaraeg was caught by anti-drugs operatives in the act of trading shabu at 12:30 dawn on March 16.

The raiders confiscated 5.8 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P118,320 at Sitio Don Guitoy, Brgy. Lalig.

The recovered evidence will be submitted to the Quezon Provincial Forensic Unit in Camp G, Nakar for laboratory examination.

The criminal complaints for violation of sections 5 and 11, Article II of R.A.  9165 are being prepared against the suspects which will be filed to the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of Quezon.
