A woman who allegedly stole Bluetooth speakers from a mall store was arrested in an entrapment operation in Pasay City on Tuesday, March 14.

Col. Froilan Uy, city police chief, said the suspect, identified as Nicole Cueto, 28, a resident of Baclaran Parañaque City, was nabbed around 6:30 p.m. in Mall of Asia (MOA) in Pasay City.

UIy said the Power Mac Center at Ayala Alabang Festival Mall sought police assistance.

The city police said a representative from Power Mac Center Inc. reported that the suspect stole 14 Bluetooth speakers -- eight pieces of JBL brand and six pieces of Bose brand -- from their branch in Ayala Alabang Festival Mall on March 9.

Police said all speakers amounted to P145,562.

Uy said the company representative claimed that the stolen items were posted on the suspect's Facebook account for sale.

The company representative posed as a buyer of Bluetooth speaker and contacted the suspect who agreed to meet her at MOA in Pasay City.

The police launched an entrapment operation leading to the arrest of the suspect.

Police recovered one unit of JBL Bluetooth speaker, which was one of the items stolen from the store.

The city police chief said the suspect was detained at the police custodial facility. She was charged for violation of PD 1612 or the Anti-Fencing Law.
