CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police seized suspected shabu and marijuana worth P4.1 million and nabbed nine drug pushers in buy-bust operations in the Cordillera from March 5 to 11.
Brig. Gen. Mafelino Bazar, Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief, said 14,068 fully grown marijuana plants, 52 marijuana seedlings, and 8,000 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops with a total standard drug price of P3,775,680 were discovered and destroyed in four plantations in Kibungan, Benguet.
Bazar said the Benguet police arrested four suspected drug pushers, the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), four, and the Apayao police, one.
Benguet police identified their suspects as Ian Barrientos, 29; Raymond Soriano, 26; Sahraine Omar, 18; and a 17-year-old girl.
Grace Sibug, 47; Kryzer Jewel dela Concha, 26; Vladimir Villamer, 29; and Dexter Balanza, 31, were nabbed in Baguio while Wilmer Lingayo, 37, was arrested in Apayao.
The nine drug suspects yielded shabu weighing 51.26 grams and valued at P348,568.
Suspects face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
