Marcos boosts MSMEs, dreamers to propel post-pandemic recovery
President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. has renewed his administration's commitment to supporting small businesses and the "dreamers" who want to provide the public with quality products amid the country's recovery from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Marcos said this as he led the launch of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo in Pili, Camarines Sur, on Thursday, March 16.
In his speech, the President recognized that the country is not yet out of the woods regarding handling the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic despite the dwindling number of cases.
"Hindi pa tayo tapos sa ekonomiya ng pandemya. Nandiyan pa rin ang aftereffects (We are not yet through with the pandemic economy. The aftereffects are still there)," he said.
"Kaya patuloy namin ang suporta sa ating taumbayan, ang suporta sa ating MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises), ang suporta sa lahat ng mga nangangarap at may layunin na magbigay ng magandang produkto para sa ating mga kababayan (That's why we'll continue supporting the people, the MSMEs, and those who dream of giving quality products to the public)," he added.
Anchored in the Administration's efforts to provide programs that aim to cushion and counter the effects of inflation in the country, the Kadiwa ng Pangulo aims to make affordable food accessible to Filipinos.
With over 500 outlets nationwide, it also provides farmers, fishers, and MSMEs with a direct market for their products.
According to President Marcos, the government will strive to add more Kadiwa ng Pangulo outlets as they prove there is hope to overcome poverty. "Ipagpapatuloy po natin ito, hindi lamang ganito ito. Pararamihin naman natin hangga't maaari para makita naman natin na merong pagbabago (We will not stop at this. We will add as many as we can so you can see that there is change)," he said. "Merong pagpapaganda doon sa ating mga ginagawa at para sa ating kababayan na meron naman tayong pag-asang umahon at hindi na tayo dumadaan gaano sa hirap (There is something good in what we do and our people now know that there is a chance for us to prosper and we will no longer have to endure as much)," he added.NOW: President Marcos to lead the launch of the Kadiwa ng Pangulo in Pili, Camarines Sur.
