Joni Lyn Castillo-Pillarina, Liza Soberano's aunt and former road manager and personal assistant, recently took to social media to defend herself from allegations she took advantage of the actress.
This was after Liza revealed the commission she was getting from her the past 13 years.
She told a netizen: "Buti po pina panood niyo both sides okei po yan if sa tingin nyo may mali ako sorry po.
Recall that in an interview with Boy Abunda, Liza shared that prior to her signing with a new talent management agency, her dad's first cousin has been getting 20% in commission for some time, while her former talent manager Ogie Diaz was taking 30% and Star Magic, 10%.
That leaves Liza with only 40% of her earnings.
But because she's an American citizen, she also pay taxes in the US and here so, amounting to around 10% of the 40%.
It was only when she turned 17 that both Joni and Ogie lowered their commission to 15% and 20%, respectively.
According to Liza, this was because "they felt like I deserved more because I was putting in a lot of work."
Star Magic, she said, retained their commission at 10%.
Though she cleared that the cut was only from her endorsements.
