4 suspected communist terrorist group members surrender to Taguig police

Four persons tagged by the Philippine National Police (PNP) as members of the communist terrorist group (CTG) surrendered to authorities on March 15.

According to the Southern Police District (SPD) chief Brig. Gen. John Kraft, the four members of the Alliance of Filipino Workers (AFW) withdrew their support from the communist party and took their oath of allegiance to the government at the Taguig police’s Fort Bonifacio Substation 1.

They were identified by the SPD as K. Ramirez, a nursing attendant; J. Regencia, an ambulance driver; B. Aquino, a nursing attendant; and J. Eusebio, a maintenance personnel.

The Taguig police, according to the SPD, facilitated their withdrawal of support to the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People's Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) and their vow of allegiance to the government.

The SPD added that the four were allegedly members of the AFW who were identified as sectoral personalities instigating anti-government sentiments and supporting communist ideology.

It also alleged that the four were active in the recruitment of new members and in participating in mass actions and protest rallies organized by communist fronts.
