Vloggers' accreditation to cover Marcos still under study --- Garafil
Accrediting vloggers to cover President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. is still being studied by Malacañang , Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Velicaria-Garafil said.
Garafil bared this during the Commission on Appointments (CA) hearing for her confirmation as the PCO secretary on Wednesday, March 15.
"Ang pag-a-accredit sa ating mga vloggers ay patuloy po nating pinagaaralan. Kasama po yan sa ating mga programa na pinag-aaralan po ngayon (The accreditation for vloggers is being continuously studied. It is part of the programs that we are looking into)," Garafil said.
"So, in time po kapag nagkaroon na kami ng malawakang pag-aaral, ibibigay po namin ang aming sagot with respect to that issue (So, in time if we conduct an intensive study, we will give you the answer with respect to that issue)," Garafil added.
Only journalists, photojournalists, and cameramen from media outfits such as private and state-run television and radio networks and print and online publications were accredited to cover the Malacañang beat, including all events of Marcos around the country and abroad.
The accreditation of vloggers for Malacañang was pitched as early as Marcos' assumed office last year.
It was pushed in order to help the Palace raise public awareness on the policies and programs of the Marcos administration.
However, the agenda never progressed despite vloggers being allowed to cover the presidential campaign of Marcos.
