Student wounded in Abra dorm shooting

BANGUED, Abra – A 23-year-old student was shot and wounded during a heated argument with his dormmate here on Tuesday night, March 14. Police identified the victim as John Michael Lolor Santamaria, of Ambiong, La Trinidad, Benguet, and staying at Santamaria Residence on Rizal St., Barangay Zone 7. Investigation said the victim was about to cook dinner when he and dormmate, Ariel Belarmino Bolante, 41, unemployed, of Bugbog, Bucay, Abra, suddenly had a heated argument. Bolante got a caliber .38 revolver from his room and shot the victim twice. Santamaria was wounded in the nose bridge and right shoulder and was taken to the Seares Memorial Hospital here. Police apprehended the suspect and recovered the firearm which had no serial number and markings along with two fired cartridge cases and four bullets. Suspect is detained at the Bangued Municipal Police Station.
