SK president arrested for election bombing in Maguindanao


ZAMBOANGA CITY – Police apprehended a Sangguniang Kabataan president linked to the bombing of an elementary school in Maguindanao del Norte in the May elections at the Cotabato Airport in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte on Sunday, March 13.

Brig. Gen. John Guyguyon, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region police chief, identified the suspect as Abdulwadod Amolan Sangki, the president of the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Norte.

Sangki was arrested after participating in the 11th Philippine Councilors League 2023 National Convention at the World Trade Center Metro Manila in Pasay City.

He was arrested on during the service of a warrant by the Bangsamoro regional police, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, BARMM Aviation Security Group, and Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipal Police for violation of Republic Act 11479 or the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.

Sangki was tagged as the most wanted person of the Ampatuan Municipal Police Station and the fourth most wanted person on the regional level of the Philippine National Police in Bangsamoro.

Suspect was allegedly involved in the bombing of the Abdullah Sangki Elementary School in Barangay Poblacion, Ampatuan, during the national and local elections on  May 9, 2022.

Sangki was brought to the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit Regional Field Unit BAR for proper documentation and filing of charges.
