Guanzon has harsh punishment in mind for onion smugglers; find out what

If Rowena Guanzon would have her way, she would condemn onion smugglers to severe heartburn and halitosis by way of forced consumption of all the produce they smuggled. The P3PWD Party-list nominee suggested this form of punishment amid the plummeting farmgate price of local onions. "Smugglers of onions should be punished by ordering them to eat all the onions they smuggled in within 30 days," the feisty Guanzon said in a tweet Tuesday, March 14. "And the government officials responsible, to eat their s\*@t," added the former Commission on Elections (Comelec) commissioner. Apparently, Guazon is blaming the government for the continued entry of imported onions in the local market. Smuggling worsens this problem.

"Sibuyas (Onions) in N.Ecija the main producer, now costs P47 a kilo. No thanks to mga inutil. Import pa more. #mgainutil (No thanks to these incompetents. Keep importing)," Guanzon said sarcastically. In late January, the farmgate price of onions stood at P120 a kilo.
