BALLESTEROS, Cagayan – The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is constructing a seawall on the shoreline of this town that will protect residents from high waves during the rainy season.
The Cagayan Second District Engineering Office led by officer-in-charge District Engineer Rellie S. Dalmaceda is implementing the P100-million project funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2023 through the Flood Management Program.
“Aside from protecting properties and lives, the seawall will also alleviate further shoreline erosion caused by the wave impacts leading to the protection from damaging coastal roads in the area,” Dalmaceda added.
Construction started on Feb. 6 and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2023.
