Colegio de Muntinlupa marks 6th founding anniversary

The city-run Colegio de Muntinlupa (CDM) is observing its sixth founding anniversary on March 20-24 with a renewed determination to become the premier local government institution for engineering and architecture in the country. "We are proud of Colegio de Muntinlupa and what it has already achieved even in such a short time. CDM also plays a key role as we aspire to have more science and engineering graduates in Muntinlupa City," said Mayor Ruffy Biazon.

Recently, CDM graduated its pioneering batch of students. CDM scored a 100 percent passing rate in the recent Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination held on Feb. 26 to 27. It also holds the City's annual Robotics Fair that features the engineering college's initiatives in relation to the latest industry trends.  Dr. Tess Fortuna, CDM president, said the college needs to be at the forefront of what experts called "The Fourth Industrial Revolution" that will leverage future technologies to increase the level of productivity, automation, and mechanization.  "Robotics engineering approaches, artificial intelligence, mechatronics, and the internet of things, among others, will be applicable to address these challenges," she said.  As part of Biazon's push to make Muntinlupa a smart city in the near future, CDM is expected to open additional course offerings soon to enable more opportunities for Muntinlupeños to be at the forefront of the country's engineering and architecture industries.
