Caraga police net 29 felons


CAMP RAFAEL C. RODRIGUEZ, Butuan City – Police apprehended 21 wanted persons and eight lawbreakers in the Caraga region (Region 13 or Northeastern Mindanao) on Tuesday, March 14.

The Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 Regional Operations Division said 14 wanted persons were arrested in Surigao del Norte, three in Surigao del Sur, three in Butuan City, and one in Agusan del Sur.

Their warrants of arrest for various charges were issued by courts in the region, PRO 13 chief Brig. Gen Pedro Labra II.

Labra said also arrested were three suspected drug pushers who yielded 2.62 grams of shabu valued at P17,816 in Butuan City, Surigao City, and Barobo, Surigao del Sur; two for illegal gambling, two for illegal fishing, and one for illegal possession of firearm.

Suspects face appropriate charges.

Labra said police won’t waver in the campaign against crime in Caraga.

“PNP Caraga will never be complacent despite the improved peace and order situation in the region,” he said.

“The more than 7,000 Caraga cops will continue to leverage efforts and resources for the arrest of wanted persons and those involved in illegal activities.”
