Gov. Aris Aumentado welcomed the province’s hosting of the four-day international event.
“We are happy to welcome the delegates to our province. We expressed that Bohol is very willing to participate in their activities and help boost intellectual property rights in our country and the entire ASEAN,” Aumentado said.
Since the meeting will be attended by foreign delegations, the governor said hosting the event will give the province a big boost in tourism.
“This will give us a chance to showcase the best of Bohol to our visitors from the ASEAN region, European Union, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom, and the World Intellectual Property Organization,” said Aumentado.
The governor assured that the province had taken necessary measures to ensure the success of the event.
Bohol’s hosting of the meeting came after the Philippines, through IPOPHL, assumed chairmanship of ASEAN AWGIPC in April last year.
AWGIPC is the group leading the bloc to fulfill its 2025 goal of driving economic prosperity in the region through intellectual property.
