"Focus on serving the people. Mag-ipon, malapit na (Save up, it's near)," he added.
The Bicolano was obviously referring to the scheduled Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) on Oct. 30, 2023. The polls are just a little over seven months away.
It's been five years since the last village and youth polls were held, so the candidates can expect a tough battle for the posts.
There are 42,022 barangays in the country. Barangays are the smallest local government unit (LGU) in the Philippines.
