HR head of hospital wounded in Dagupan City shooting incident

Dagupan City – The head of a human resource department of Dagupan Doctors Villaflor and Memorial Hospital here was shot by two unidentified gunmen in Claudio P Ordoñez Compound in Brgy. Caranglaan on Tuesday morning, March 14. Pangasinan Police Provincial Office identified victim as Bernadette Velasco Abella, 45, and resident of Claudio P Ordoñez Compound., Brgy Caranglaan. Initial investigation revealed that the victim was about to report to her work at Villaflor hospital and was in the act of closing the gate when one of the perpetrators who suddenly arrived, shot her several times. The victim sustained gunshot wounds and was rushed by concerned citizens to  DDVH where she is under observation at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The suspects fled to an unknown direction right after the incident. Pangasinan Philippine National Police director Col Jeff Fanged that a dragnet and checkpoint operation was immediately conducted for the possible arrest of the suspects. Police will also conduct backtracking and review of CCTV footage. PNP has yet to determine the motives of the crime. "Marami pang anggulo tinitingnan sa krimen," the police official said.
