Dad lands in jail after taking hostage his 3-year-old child in Silang, Cavite

CAVITE – Authorities here arrested a man  who allegedly held hostage his own three-year-old child amid a squabble with his wife in Silang on March 9.

In an interview with the Manila Bulletin on Tuesday, March 14, Patrolman Zeus Gabriel Belando and Corporal Ralph Jason Santos of Silang Municipal Police Station (MPS) said barangay officials sought their help after receiving a report from the suspect’s wife.

The suspect reportedly held a knife and a pair of scissors while keeping his child captive in their home.

The Cavite Police Provincial Office (PPO) deployed negotiators and a Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) team to the scene.

The suspect was apprehended during the operation and the child was rescued without injuries.

The suspect is now under the custody of Silang MPS and is facing a charge for violating the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act.
