Zamboanga City Water District implements water rationing

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) informed customers on Monday, March 13, that water rationing will be implemented from March 14 to 31.

Rationing was implemented due to the shortage at the Labuan and Vitali water systems.

Water in Campo Uno, Labuan, and Labuan-Lawingan-Patalon will be available every other day while it will be available in Bataan, Mangusu, Calle Posporo, and the highway leading to Barangay Tictapul every two days.

ZCWD officials urged customers to store water for their daily use while rationing is in effect.

In an interview on Friday, March 10, ZCWD acting General Manager Michael Carbon warned of the continuous decrease in water level at the Pasonanca Dam due to lack of rain.

The water level has gone down to the critical level of 74.12 meters from the normal 74.20 meters.
