Various equipment that came from Japan to help in the clean-up of the oil spill off Oriental Mindoro have arrived in the Philippines.
According to the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Philippine government already received on Monday the gears to support the environmental efforts.
These included oil blotters, heavy oil absorption masks, working gloves, rubber boots, and protective work wear, which are "expected to boost the clean-up campaign and protect all people who will participate."
The arrival of the support equipment is an additional assistance provided by Tokyo.
Last week, the Japanese government deployed eight members from its disaster relief expert team to help in preventing maritime damage and contamination caused by a sunken oil tanker in Oriental Mindoro.
"Let's all do our part in saving our precious oceans!" Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines Koshikawa Kazuhiko said in a Twitter post.
