The 30-year-old skipper made the announcement on social media Sunday, adding that she wanted time and space for her other passions. “Nagwakas na ang serbisyo sa bayan, dito naman, dito na lang, dito na palagi,” Maraño wrote. “Maraming salamat! Love, Capt. Tyang.” In a separate interview with the members of the press, the hard-hitting middle spiker said she is eternally grateful for the people she had been with during her stint with the national team. “I’m most grateful to the people who believer and trust my abilities. She was captain for the squad that competed in the 2018 Asian Games, as well as in the 2019 and 2022 SEAG editions.
