3 members of lawless armed group killed in Cotabato skirmish

GENERAL SANTOS CITY – Three suspected members of a lawless armed group were killed while a policemen was wounded in a shootout in Barangay Macabual, Pikit, Cotabato on Saturday, March 11. Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, Police Regional Office (PRO) 12 (Soccsksargen or the South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City area) director, said authorities were serving a warrant of arrest against murder suspects Abdullah Kordutoy and Jonathan Kadalem at their hideout. However, suspects fired at approaching lawmen who retaliated and killed their three cohorts – Lando Dianalan, Norman Samsudin, and Baganian Alimao. A policeman, Corporal Eric Buslan, a member of the PNP-Special Action Force, was wounded in the skirmish. Kurdotoy and Kadalem escaped and the subject of a police manhunt ordered by Macaraeg. Lawmen recovered four M-16 rifles and one 12 gauge shot gun from the suspects’ lair.
