SANTA ANA, Cagayan – The Philippine Coast Guard Station Cagayan, Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Santa Ana, and other agencies conducted a Recreational Safety Enforcement Inspection (RSEI) of various beach resorts here recently.Â
The main goal of RSEI is to monitor and ensure the safety, security, and environmental concerns of beach resorts and hotels within the area of responsibility of CGS Cagayan through the strict implementation of HPCG/CG8 Memorandum Circular 03-14 dated April 16, 2014, otherwise known as the "Guidelines for Safety and Security Requirements of Coastal and Beach Resorts and Vessels with Pool Facilities, including Qualifications and Requirements of Lifeguards for the Promotion of Life at Sea."Â
The inspectors met resort owners and discussed the significance and the rationale behind the inspection.Â
Â
After the inspection, evaluation and suggestions were made by the team on how to enhance the safety, security, and environmental concerns of the resorts in accordance with the policies of PCG.
The PCG wants to achieve zero maritime incidents, particularly drowning, this forthcoming summer.Â
Â
A series of inspections in all beach resorts within the station's jurisdiction will be conducted.
Â
Inspected beach resorts were Nassim Hotel and Beach Resort, Blue Coast Beach Hotel, and Country Inn Hotel and Restaurant.
