Valenzuela LGU conducts gender equality training program
The Valenzuela City government started conducting its gender equality training program at the People’s Park Amphitheater, Valenzuela City on Thursday, March 9.
The gender equality training program was initiated by the city government, which serves as a call for a fair-minded and educated society. The training program kicked off last March 6.
The city government said the training sessions will be spearheaded by the Gender and Development (GAD) Committee to celebrate National Women’s Month.
The celebration is also in line with the Philippine Commission on Women's (PCW) theme "WE for gender equality and inclusive society."
“WE means two things: Women and Everyone and Women’s Empowerment. The theme indicates that everyone has a role to play in our long fight for equality, and empowering women pioneers change and big development in the struggle of attaining an inclusive society," the city government said.
The succeeding training sessions which include the Gender-Based Violence, Mental Health, and Wellness Seminar will be held at the audio-visual room (AVR), City Hall on March 22; and Leadership and Capability Building Workshop at Marulas Multi-Purpose Hall on March 28.
A Women’s Month Culminating Activity will also be held at Allied Evacuation and Emergency Response Teams (ALERT) Multi-Purpose Center Hall on March 29.
