Outreach program in Majayjay, Laguna provides assistance to individuals with respiratory issues
LAGUNA – Individuals with respiratory issues received medical assistance in an outreach program held at Gat Yantok Covered Court in Majayjay on Thursday, March 10.
The project was organized by Fujifilm Philippines in partnership with Majayjay Mayor Romeo Perez Amorado.
"Majayjay is committed in providing quality healthcare to its citizens and its commitment makes it an ideal site to launch our health outreach program," Fujifilm Philippines President Masahiro Uehara said in a statement.

The medical mission used high-tech X-ray carts to diagnose patients with respiratory complaints. Out of 125 patients, 65 were found to have pulmonary tuberculosis, 23 with pneumonia, 19 with orthopedic problems, and 10 with an enlarged heart. Majayjay rural health officer Dr. Ivan Villareal said those diagnosed with respiratory problems will be subject to further examination. Patients with tuberculosis will be enrolled under the local government unit’s (LGU) subsidized medical program, where they will receive treatment and regular monitoring along with their affected family members. To augment the local health centers' medical equipment, the project sponsor also turned over medical kits to the LGU, including blood pressure monitors and thermometers. Alongside the outreach program, Fujifilm Philippines conducted basic photography training for young adults, facilitated by Jam Ramos, an instructor at the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF).
