Liza Soberano on Boy Abunda's 'disappointment' over her vlog: 'Na hurt ako...feeling ko, of all people, ikaw yung makakaintindi'


Liza Soberano and Boy Abunda met recently and they were able to discuss the latter's disappointment over her and her controversial tell-all vlog.

Liza admitted she was "hurt" with Boy's pronouncement.

"Feeling ko, of all people, ikaw yung makakaintindi. Cause you know, I see you as one of the wisest in the industry. Sa dami ng pinagdaanan mo with different personalities, parang you always saw things for what they were. And parang ang paniniwala ko your judgment isn't clouded by the noise of the media, by what the fans say. So parang I felt like I was misunderstood by you," she explained.

All that said, Liza admitted she now understands where he was coming from.

"It really did make sense to me," she maintained.

It is as such that she finally decided to come out and explain herself further via the interview.

"Kasi there were so many interpretations of what I said and I just felt the need to further explain myself because it was getting so noisy and so many different thoughts and opinions were coming in," she said.

"I felt like I needed to defend myself," she pointed out.

Liza then cleared a statement she made about her not having a voice or say in the projects assigned her while at ABS-CBN.

"Naranasan ko naman na I was given some right to kind of approve certain things that were going on in my career. But I was never empowered na mag-isip on creating or sharing ideas on how I could bring my career into a different direction," she explained.

"So yes, I may have made some decisions for myself, I may have agreed to do certain things but I wouldn't say that they were completely my own kasi I had fans to cater to. I had a family to provide for. I had people in the industry that I wanted to impress or make proud. So I didn't grow up learning how to choose things for myself and really deciding what I want. It was always dictated what people think what's right for me," was how she put it.

Liza shared it was only in 2019 that she came to realize she could do more.

It was then that she started asking, suggesting certain things in terms of character development.

But doing so proved problematic.

A certain director, whom she didn't name, supposedly started badmouthing her, calling her the "little producer."

The young star conveyed she just wanted to be heard but having rubbed people the wrong way, she decided to simply go with the flow.

But she wasn't happy; she wasn't fulfilled.
