Karltzy as MLBB GOAT? ECHO jungler named Player of the Year

Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno made his case in the MLBB GOAT (greatest of all time) debate grow stronger after bagging the first-ever MPL Philippines Press Corps Player of the Year award.

The ECHO star, who was also adjudged as this year’s best jungler, was hailed with the top individual honor during the Awards Night at the Amelie Hotel on Wednesday, March 8.

“Sobrang espesyal po sa akin kasi nung paglipat ko po ng ECHO parang feel ko ano e, pababa na yung career ko so yun pala hindi pa, nakakatuwa lang na kaya ko pa ring sumabay,” Karltzy told the members of the press.

The award came after a stellar season from Karltzy who seemed to have found a second wind on his career after struggling to make a mark in his last two seasons with Bren Esports or since winning the M2 World Championship title.

Karltzy, who also won the MVP citation in M2, thought that it was already the peak of his career after his performance declined from there. A change of scenery and mindset turned out to be all what he needed to finally rediscover his form after moving to ECHO and veering away from his usual flashy assassin pick for less dazzling but effective utility jungle choices.

“Nakakatuwa lang po. Kahit maraming nag-doubt nung una, mas marami naman yung nag-tiwala sa akin so grateful ako sa mga taong yun,” he added.

With all the recognitions and awards, however, there’s something that Karltzy has also been raring to win at this point of his career – an MPL title for ECHO and an MSC crown for him which could complete his collection of Mobile Legends titles – a goal that if he manages to achieve will further cement his legacy as the greatest of them all.

“Siguro una po gusto kong bigyan muna ng MPL championship yung ECHO tapos MSC naman po para sa akin,” he said.
