House Speaker Martin Romualdez is helping authorities get to the bottom of the death of John Matthew Salilig, a chemical engineering student of Adamson University who allegedly died due to fraternity hazing.

House Speaker Martin Romualdez (in photo) is dangling a P500,000 reward to anybody who can help authorities arrest the suspects behind the death of Adamson University student John Matthew Salilig.

The House leader did so by offering a P500,000 reward for anyone who can provide information that will lead to the arrest of those responsible for Salilig's demise.

Romualdez said the reward is meant to encourage individuals to come forward and help authorities arrest the suspects or those who have knowledge on what exactly happened to Salilig, whose body was dumped on an open field in Imus, Cavite.

The Leyte’s 1st district representative condemned the gruesome killing, stressing “A loss of life is not acceptable in a civilized society like ours.”

The lawyer-solon further said: “Brothers do not kill brothers. Frat-related or not, any crime that results to death deserves utmost condemnation.”

The Speaker said the House of Representatives is committed to working with concerned law enforcement agencies to ensure a safer and more secure environment for Filipinos.

“It is important that we take a proactive step to help our law enforcement agencies bring criminals to justice. Wala silang pagpapahalaga sa buhay. Sa ospital nila dapat dinala ang biktima (They don't give life any value, they should have brought the victim to the hospital),” Romualdez said.
