Selden Jr. hoping to bounce back after running out of gas vs Ginebra
NLEX new import Wayne Selden Jr. had a splendid debut and exploded for 43 points but admitted he had nothing left in his legs in the final frame when Ginebra made a strong finishing kick to complete the 114-111 comeback.

Selden left it all on the floor especially during a third quarter flurry where he dropped 20 of his output which eventually allowed the Road Warriors to take a 12-point lead early in the payoff period.
The lead however went futile against the patented Ginebra comeback as NLEX went on a total collapse in the endgame behind a 13-3 finishing kick spearheaded by Justin Brownlee and Jeremiah Gray.
“We missed opportunities to get stops, and gave up a couple of threes. We got to be better closing the game. We got to finish the game and we ran out of gas. We’ll be better next game,” said the former NBA player.
Despite the loss though, Selden Jr. sees a lot of positives with his new team especially after holding their own against the defending champions.
“We got a lot of potential. It’s a great group of guys. Happy with the guys. We worked hard tonight, just made a couple of mistakes on defense. I know we’ll be better in the next game,” he added.
Selden, however, certainly believes he can give more for NLEX and he is eager to bounce back after failing to deliver the victory and continue the winning ways started by Jonathon Simmons.
“I know I got responsibilities to the team, to the staff, to the coaches to be as good as I can be and be a leader. I got a little tired down the stretch tonight, but it’s no excuse, next game I’ll have more energy for sure,” he added.
