Advocates from the Pasig City Nutrition Committee (PCNC) and SEAOIL Foundation conducted training sessions with other stakeholders to ensure efficient implementation of the “Tugon sa Gutom Program.”

“Tugon sa Gutom Program” is SEAOIL Foundation’s flagship program to tackle food insecurity and hunger by “helping families and households produce their own food at home, and food access through establishing family farms.

The foundation engages with communities, business enterprises, and local governments to create policies and provide resources to sustain and support the family farms.

The training session held at the Pasig Nutrition Office, led by SEAOIL, was attended by the PCNC, the Samahan ng Nagkakaisang Taga-Riverside Homeowners Association (SNTR-HOA), and the Pasig City Civil Society Organization Desk - Office of the City Mayor (CSO-OCM).

It focused on discussions regarding data gathering and management tools and systems such as the open data kit (ODK), as well as program monitoring and evaluation.

The training aimed to educate stakeholders with the importance of program monitoring, and inform them of the essential data and information that need to be collected from their community gardens.

They introduced the ODK in order to help monitor the families included in the program.

They also included an orientation on the proper use of ODK forms using their mobile phones along with other community forms.

Pasig City is the only local government partner of the SEAOIL Foundation in Metro Manila for the Tugon sa Gutom Program.
