P122-M bridge opened in Northern Samar


TACLOBAN CITY – Officials of the province of Northern Samar inaugurated on Wednesday, Feb. 8, the newly completed San Roque Bridge 2 in Barangay Laoangan, San Roque, Northern Samar.

The 122-meter bridge also referred to as the Laoangan Bridge connects San Roque and Pambujan, among the rice-producing towns in the province.

Gov. Edwin Ongchuan pushed for its construction and said that the bridge is full concrete and follows the national standard in terms of width and thickness.

Ongchuan opened the bridge along with Northern Samar Rep. Harris Christopher Ongchuan whose efforts in Congress was instrumental in its completion.

The P122.8-million bridge funded by the national government through the Department of Public Works and Highways will ease the transportation of agricultural products and increase

access to health, education, and other social services in nearby communities.
