Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII) President Dr. Henry Lim Bon Liong expressed confidence on the domestic economy despite the further acceleration of the country's inflation.
"We at the FFCCCII reaffirm our continued positive and hopeful forecast for Philippine economic growth in 2023, despite the recent news about high 8.7% inflation in January," said Lim in a statement Thursday, Feb. 9..
"We are hopeful that the national government shall undertake progressive policies and the necessary decisive reforms to improve our inflation situation, and that all sectors will cooperate."
Lim attributed the group's optimism to the positive outlook on business and investment conditions of the Philippines in 2023, citing the country's positive socio-economic fundamentals, favorable demographic situation, pro-business and liberal foreign investment reforms, the decisive reopening of the world's No. 2 biggest economy and our neighbor China, the continued economic dynamism of resource-rich ASEAN region, and the onset of the world's biggest free trade agreement (FTA) of RCEP centered on Asia.
FFCCCII is the umbrella organization of 170 Filipino Chinese chambers of commerce and diverse trade organizations nationwide from Aparri to Tawi Tawi. Its objectives include promoting dynamic business, sustainable and inclusive Philippine economic growth, and socio-civic projects.
