LAGUNA – Authorities arrested seven alleged members of the Cuento Criminal Gang in five separate operations against loose firearms on Feb. 4 and 5 in the municipality of Santa Maria here.
In a statement, Laguna Police Provincial Office (PPO) identified the suspects as alias Rogelio, alias Edick, alias Randy, alias Cervacio, alias Rio, alias Nestor, and alias Rolando.
Confiscated from the suspects were nine handguns and two grenades.
Six of the suspects are now detained at the custodial facility of Laguna PPO while the other has been placed under the custody of the Santa Maria Municipal Police Station.
The suspects are facing charges of obstruction of justice, illegal possession of explosives, and for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
Laguna PPO Director Colonel Randy Glenn G. Silvio recognized the community’s cooperation which led to the successful operations.
