Police operatives arrested a transport network vehicle service (TNVS) driver for allegedly shooting a man dead in Pasig City last Sunday, Feb. 5.
According to initial police investigation, the victim, identified as “Mark,” 37, was shot several times by a motorcycle-riding man while he was onboard a white Toyota Fortuner with his friends along C6 Road corner Kenneth Road in Barangay Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City last Feb. 5 at 11:25 p.m.
The suspect fled on his red NMAX motorycle towards C6 Road to Taytay, Rizal after the shooting.
The victim was rushed to the Pasig City General Hospital (PCGH) but was declared dead on arrival, police said.
Police gathered video footage of the incident and traced the suspect’s motorcycle in their follow-up investigation.
The registered owner of the motorcycle was identified as “Roy,” a TNVS Angkas driver and resident of Novaliches, Quezon City, based on the result of the initial verification made by the police in cooperation with the Land Transportation Office (LTO).
Further police investigation showed that the victim and his friends had an argument with Roy about booking cancellation.
The police said the suspect was heard saying “wag n’yo akong sigawan, hindi nyo ako kilala (don’t yell at me, you don’t know me).”
One of the victim’s companions also identified the driver as the motorcycle-riding shooter.
The Pasig Police Station Follow-Up Section and Station Intelligence Section along with Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 3 arrested the suspect and recovered the motorcycle used in the incident.
The suspect is facing murder charges.
