Most child-friendly barangays in Muntinlupa named

An inter-agency monitoring team has named the most child-friendly barangays in Muntinlupa.

The Muntinlupa Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) Inter-Agency Monitoring Team conducted the 2022 BCPC Assessment covering all nine barangays in the city.

Among Muntinlupa’s nine barangays, Sucat, Cupang, and Bayanan emerged as the top three most child-friendly.

All barangays in Muntinlupa garnered an ideal functionality rating, equivalent to 80 to 100 percent.

The monitoring team was composed of representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in Muntinlupa, and the city government’s Social Services Department, City Health Office, Gender and Development office and City Planning and Development Office, and non-government organizations.

The activity, spearheaded by the DILG-Muntinlupa and the City Council for the Protection of Children, aimed to ensure the functionality of the BCPCs of each barangay in catering to the needs of children including children in need of special protection.

Each BCPC was assessed based on organizational sustainability (15 percent), policies and plans for children (30 percent), budget (25 percent) and service delivery monitoring and management for children (30 percent).
