Ex-drug offender in Negros Oriental yields P6.9 M shabu in buy-bust operation

BACOLOD CITY -- A former drug offender was arrested anew after he allegedly yielded more than one kilo of shabu worth P6.9 million during a buy-bust operation at Sitio Canday-ong, Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on Tuesday, Feb. 7.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Central Visayas, identified the subject as Fernando Saraga, 54.

According to PDEA, it took them almost six months to launch the operation against the suspect.

The PDEA said the suspect can dispose of about one kilo of illegal drugs a month.

The suspect was arrested in 2012 and was released four years later through plea bargaining.

Drug charges are being readied against the suspect.
