BALAYAN, Batangas – A barangay councilor and his wife died after the tricycle they were riding on was hit by an ambulance at the national highway in Brgy. Sambat in this town on Monday afternoon, Feb 6.
The victims were identified as Crispin Comia, 60, barangay kagawad of Brgy. Tactac of this town and his wife, Gavina, 62, a teacher.
Comia died on the spot while his wife died while being treated at the hospital.
According to the Balayan Police report, the victims were crossing the national highway when they were hit by an ambulance that was going to the Metro Balayan Medical Center to bring a patient at around 2:40 in the afternoon.
During the investigation, the ambulance overtook a vehicle before hitting the tricycle,
The ambulance also hit another motorcycle driven by Ychiro Catalan, 18, and injured his back rider, Dennis Arroyo, 23, a food shop supervisor.
The ambulance, owned by the Batangas provincial government, was driven by Domingo de Leon.
