Enverga designated legislative caretaker of Valenzuela's 1st district

Quezon 1st district Rep. Wilfrido Mark Enverga has been designated as the caretaker of Valenzuela City's 1st legislative district.

This was made official during plenary session in the House of Representatives on Monday afternoon, Feb. 6.

House Majority Leader and Zambonga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe made the motion to install Enverga as the caretaker solon.

Minutes before this, Dalipe announced that the chamber received a letter of resignation from erstwhile Valenzuela City 1st district Rep. Rex Gatchalian.

Gatchalian was appointed as Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) secretary by Malacañang last week. This meant that he had to vacate his House seat.

Enverga is Gatchalian's party-mate over at the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC).

House Speaker and Leyte 1st district Rep. Martin Romualdez earlier said that he might consult with Gatchalian's party on the subject of his district's legislative caretaker.
