Bureau of Immigration (BI) officers arrested have arrested two foreign nationals with fake travel papers at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
BI border control Investigation unit (BCIU) chief Dennis Alcedo identified the duo as 30-year-old Chinese national Zhang Yang and Indian Malkeet Sing, 42.
Zhang was attempting to board a Philippine Airlines flight to Bangkok when collared by officers for having a fake visa tacked in his passport..
He was previously banned from returning to the country for violating the conditions of his stay.
Meanwhile, Singh was intercepted shortly after he arrived Monday from Singapore with counterfeit arrival stamp on his passport.
Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco lauded the efforts of BI agents arresting Zhang and Singh.
They are now detained at the BI’s detention center in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, Taguig pending their eventual deportation.
