AirAsia Philippines on Monday, February 6, announced its return to key economic hubs in China to revitalize business while waiting for the country's full reopening to leisure travelers.
Between February and March, AirAsia Philippines will operate weekly flights to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and the special administrative region of Macao.
Business travelers can reach the research and innovation city of Guangzhou beginning next week, February 15, with AirAsia’s thrice-a-week flights every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.
Essential travelers meanwhile can fly to the special economic zone of Shenzhen four times weekly every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday beginning March 2.
Guests flying to these key destinations in China can enjoy the 10 percent discount from February 6 to 12 for travels until March 25, 2023.
Likewise, the budget carrier will return to the Special Administrative Region of Macao on March 2, with its thrice-weekly flights every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
“The final piece of the puzzle that will complete the recovery process of the aviation industry is here," says AirAsia Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla.
"Pre-pandemic, we flew over 750,000 guests to and from China," he noted. "Now that China is opening its borders to the world, a new era of tourism, trade and commerce is set to emerge."
