Milisyang Bayan member in South Cotabato yields


ILIGAN CITY – A female member of the Milisyang Bayan under the Guerilla Front Musa, Far South Mindanao Region surrendered to the 5th Special Forces Battalion in Sitio Tabudtod, Barangay New Dumangas, T’boli, South Cotabato on Thursday, Feb. 2.

“An-An” turned over one caliber .357 revolver, one hand grenade, and five blasting caps with connecting wires. An-An said her husband who was recently granted pardon convinced her to surrender.

Joint Task Force Central commander Major Gen. Alex Rillera said that her surrender was a result of the efforts of the intelligence units of the Joint Task Force Central and the troops of the 5th Special Forces Battalion in coordination with the local government units and the peace-loving people of Central Mindanao.

She is under the custody of the 5SFBn.

Lt. Gen. Roy Galido, commander of the Western Mindanao Command, said that the Armed Forces remain committed to freeing the Mindanao region from the threats of communist terrorism.
