Choco Mucho made short work of Akari with a straight-set victory 25-15, 25-20, 25-20 in the opening salvo of the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Flying Titans survived the third-set surge of the Chargers to tally their first win of the season as they get acquainted with their newly-appointed coach Dante Alinsunurin.

Maddie Madayag delivered 11 points built on nine attacks and two aces for Choco Mucho after barely seeing action in almost two years including the previous conference due to her torn ACL.

Down by one in the third set, 14-13, Madaayag took matters into her own hands and scored five straight points to put the Flying Titans on top by five.

Despite Maraguinot’s efforts to rush back to action and pull Akari within four, 18-22, Choco Mucho would come away with the win courtesy of Kat Tolentino’s back-to-back points.

"Sobrang saya. Thankful din ako sa players ko na nagtulung-tulungan tulong lahat. Siguro first time ko na nakalaro sa pvl mas ginaganahan kung ano man iyong gusto naming mangyari sa loob,” said Choco Mucho head coach Dante Alinsunurin.

Dindin Santiago-Manabat paced the Chargers with 17 points as they absorbed their first loss of the season.
